It was a great surprise to find that I had been awarded first place for my painting of ‘Quarr Abbey Ruins’ in the ‘Light, Space and Time’s’ Landscape Painting of the year competition for 2019, especially as I had previously won it in 2016. There were 572 entries from 22 different Countries.

I am the founder of the ‘Society of Painters in Water-Mixable Oils’. I led painting holidays for HF Holidays for 9 years and private painting holidays at the glorious Manoir de Gurson estate in the Dordogne also for 9 years. HF stopped doing painting holidays and Le Manoir sold the estate at about the same time; As one door closes another opens as they say and I now lead sketching and painting holidays for the famous ALPHA holidays and on the luxury River Cruises with Arena Travel on their superb, newly launched MS Arena.
